  • Responsibilities included the development of real time DSP software and the design and test of analog and digital electronic systems
  • Integrated existing SenTech-designed sensors with Iridium satellite SMS communications
  • Provided redesigns to existing equipment to improve resistance to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)
  • Designed several systems to aim video sensors and focus lenses
  • Took on the role of network administrator, performing in-house network installation and support, interfacing with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), providing an early version of the company web site and handling email issues
  • Developed an in-house suite of analysis tools in C and Matlab
  • Performed technology analysis to develop new products and approaches for our own and customer needs

Senior Engineer    7/1990 – 12/1992
Textron Defense Systems, Wilmington, MA
The Acoustic/Seismic Sensor Group at Textron designed the acoustic/seismic based ground sensor for the Wide Area Mine.
  • Involved in several research and development programs to extend the capabilities of the acoustic/seismic Ground Sensor of the Wide Area Mine
  • Served as system administrator for a Masscomp UNIX-based departmental computer
  • Developed software to aid in visualizing acoustic, seismic and infrared data

Development Engineer    7/1972 – 6/1990
General Electric Ordnance Systems (later Tactical Systems), Pittsfield MA
The Advanced Development Group at GE developed special purpose computers and systems for control and training applications and performed advanced analysis for GE Ordnance Systems.
·         Helped develop an early videodisk based audiovisual training system
·         Integrated components and tested a voice controlled gun turret
·         Provide size, power and weight (SPW) estimates for space-based computers for the Strategic Defense Initiative
·         Provided software for production testing equipment for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) hydro-mechanical transmission. Developed infrared video capture software as a part of a study for improving tank armor.
·         Wrote data analysis and display software for a long term study contract on using liquid propellants to replace gunpowder in artillery and tank guns.
